When I filed my taxes this year my CPA said the government has been pretty quick to send them out.  Just to be sure it would arrive fast, I even e-filed them.  Three weeks later, still no tax return….  I did a little research and found this pretty handy link  on the IRS’s web site.  Type in a few pieces of secure info, and tada….  an estimated arrival date.
