Steve DeLon Named Honor Affiliate of the Year

Steve received the Honor Affiliate of the Year Award from the REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana, recognizing his involvement with and support of the local real estate community.

Ryan Minick Named GMAC Mortgage Rising Star

Just one year after entering the mortgage business, Ryan received GMAC Mortgage’s Rising Star — “Rookie of the Year” Award.

The 2 Mortgage Guys Are Born

Ryan and Steve officially began working together as The 2 Mortgage Guys. That partnership would continue through multiple mortgage companies, changing markets and two decades of home financing.

Recognized Among GMAC Mortgage’s Top Producers

Steve earned GMAC Mortgage Company of Excellence Top Producer Awards in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Ryan earned the same Company of Excellence Top Producer Award in 2007. Steve also received two First Place — District 8 Production Awards during his GMAC career.

GM Family First Award

The 2 Mortgage Guys received the GM Family First Award from GMAC Mortgage.

First Republic Mortgage Sales Award of the Year

The 2 Mortgage Guys received First Republic Mortgage Corporation’s Sales Award of the Year. And they weren’t finished.

The 2 Mortgage Guys Go National with AOL

Long before mortgage education became commonplace on social media, Ryan and Steve were creating consumer mortgage videos through their Show & Tell with The 2 Mortgage Guys series. In 2009, that educational content was published nationally through AOL’s financial content network. Surviving AOL archives still feature Ryan and Steve teaching consumers about credit scores, mortgage rates, pre-approvals, refinancing, escrow accounts, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, mortgage servicing and the homebuying process.

Back-to-Back First Republic Sales Awards

The 2 Mortgage Guys were again named Sales Award of the Year recipients by First Republic Mortgage Corporation, giving the team consecutive awards in 2009 and 2010.

Recognized by the REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana

Steve’s 2002 Honor Affiliate of the Year Award began a run of Honor Affiliate recognitions. Ryan, Steve and The 2 Mortgage Guys continued to receive Honor Affiliate Awards through 2014, recognizing their involvement with and support of the local real estate community.

Downtown Champion Award

The 2 Mortgage Guys at LeaderOne Financial received the Downtown Champion Award from the Greater Kokomo Downtown Association. Downtown Kokomo would become an important part of the 2MG story for years to come.

Featured Nationally by Reuters & Fox Business

Ryan Minick was interviewed by Reuters as a mortgage-market expert for a national story about mortgage rates. The story was subsequently published by Fox Business, identifying Ryan as a mortgage adviser in Kokomo, Indiana.

Greater Kokomo Chamber Small Business of the Year

The 2 Mortgage Guys at LeaderOne Financial received the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award. The recognition reflected more than mortgage production. It represented the team’s growing involvement in Kokomo’s business and downtown communities.

Helping Lead Downtown Kokomo

Ryan served as Co-Chair of the Greater Kokomo Downtown Council, Chair of the Downtown Creative Placemaking Council, and on the Greater Kokomo Alliance Board of Directors. The 2 Mortgage Guys also helped support the revitalization of First Fridays in downtown Kokomo, including building the event series’ first website and helping incorporate the annual Strawberry Festival into First Friday.

Steve DeLon Serves as HBA President

Steve served as President of the Home Builders Association of Howard County, continuing a long history of involvement with the local building and real estate industries. Steve would later serve another term as HBA President in 2022.

Having a Little Fun for a Good Cause

LeaderOne Financial received two honors at the Bridges Outreach Lip Sync Battle: the Rockstar Award and the People’s Choice Award. The event was part of a much larger relationship between The 2 Mortgage Guys and Bridges Outreach, including the team’s Hawgin’ the Block fundraiser.

Ryan Minick received the LeaderOne Financial Top Producer Award in both 2020 and 2021.

Breast in Show People’s Choice Award

LeaderOne Financial received the People’s Choice Award at Breast in Show, another example of the team’s long-running involvement in local charitable events.

20 Years of The 2 Mortgage Guys

Ryan and Steve celebrated 20 years together as The 2 Mortgage Guys. What began in 2005 had survived housing booms, the financial crisis, historic rate cycles, multiple mortgage companies, dramatic changes in technology and an ever-changing mortgage industry. Through all of it, the partnership remained.

Greater Kokomo Small Business of the Month

The Greater Kokomo Chamber named The 2 Mortgage Guys its August 2025 Small Business of the Month. The Chamber specifically recognized the team’s long-standing commitment to the Kokomo community, including their involvement with First Fridays, the Strawberry Festival, Give 1000 and Bridges Outreach.

City of Kokomo’s Community Cornerstone Award

At the same August 2025 presentation, The 2 Mortgage Guys received the Community Cornerstone Award from the City of Kokomo and Mayor Tyler Moore. Twenty years after The 2 Mortgage Guys began, their hometown was still recognizing the impact of the business and the people behind it.

State of Indiana Hardworking Hoosiers Award

Also in 2025, The 2 Mortgage Guys received the Hardworking Hoosiers Award from the State of Indiana — statewide recognition of the work Ryan and Steve put in for Hoosier homebuyers and the communities they serve.
