Hoosier Homes Guide

What Property Types Are Eligible for Purchase?

Hoosier Homes is designed for primary-residence home purchases. Property eligibility follows your first mortgage program guidelines.

Eligible Property Types

  • ✓1-2 unit single-family homes — including primary residences
  • ✓PUDs (Planned Unit Developments)
  • ✓Townhouses and condominiums
  • ✓Eligible manufactured housing — must meet program requirements

Hoosier Homes assistance must be used for a primary residence — the home you will live in as your main dwelling.

Specific property type eligibility (single-family, condo, manufactured home, multi-unit) follows the guidelines of your first mortgage program. For example, FHA has specific requirements for condos and manufactured homes that would apply.

The program is not designed for investment properties, vacation homes, or second homes.

Confirm your specific property type with a participating lender, as program guidelines and lender overlays may impose additional restrictions.
